Careers on Wheels Day

Smyrna Primary School is hosting a Career on Wheels Day on Friday, November 17th from 8:00am-10:00am. Careers on Wheels is an experiential way for students to learn about different careers. By inviting different cars, trucks, or anything that moves, students learn and enjoy the hands on learning.

Volunteers will be presenting to 9 4th & 5th Grade classes who will each rotate to different vehicle stations for 10-15 minute sessions. Each class will have approximately 20-25 students and a teacher coming to hear your presentation. Some suggestions for topics that you may choose to cover in your presentation include:

What a typical day in your career is like
How your vehicle helps you in your job
The education/training required in your field
The character traits required in your job

We are asking that our volunteers arrive by 7:30am. We will have breakfast treats available and someone will direct you on where to park. If you are able to volunteer for this event, please let me know by Tuesday, October 31st. If for some reason it is raining the morning of the event, we will have to cancel and reschedule for another time.
